    Default EL Grande and Serra

Did the EL Grande last week end wet sanded to 2000 and use car polish. The Serra was done about two weeks ago sanded to 2000 and is now my work pen. It looked good for a few days until I put some deep scratches on it, but you get that. Any feed back welcome.

Very nice looking pens. Stupid question here - can you put a CA finish on an acrylic pen? It seems to me that it would resist scratches better.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Yes you can. Whether it helps or not, I'm undecided. One of my first clear castings I had to use a head of CA to fill the voids in the peppercorns I used. But I didn't really know what I was doing back then, so the finish is quite rough. It's my pen I've been using for work, and it rolls around inside my briefcase all day, with novels, PDA's, business cards, paperclips, my lunch and other various bits of rubbish.

Apart from still having a rough finish, I don't think it has any significant dints in it, but until I did the same thing with a nicely polished pen, it's hard to tell.

Nice colours. I actually have made my own blanks very similar. They've been setting for a week, I just cut them up this morning. Hopefully I'll get to make a matching pen & letter opener set from them this weekend.
