Elegant Beauty Platinum/Black Ti in Ebony/Osage Orange
Slowly getting there again, here is a kit i purchased off Addictive, the Elegant Beauty in Platinum and Black Titanium. I sliced the Ebony and Osage and glued together with epoxy. Then drill, turn and finished with CA. Hope it passes critique, Amos

I think you just stole one of my ideas (albeit before I had actually executed it)regards

That's nice, Amos. That particular plating combination is my favorite for that style of pen. It seems to go very well with just about every timber I throw at it and looks very classy at the same time. Your osage orange and ebony is no exception to this rule. Very nicely done!
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

NO I do not like it NO NO NO
It looks like a bloody Hawthorn pen to me and I do not like that
With the next one dye the Osage red and you will have a beautiful pen
No seriously that is a nice pen, nice contrasting colours well done
I would like to see the lamination done on a 45 degree cutCheers Rum Pig

Thanks for your comments, Rum Pig, you hit the nail on the head, originally it was going to be for the Hawthorn captain, but I'm not sure if it is exactly what I wanted, I wanted all the stripes to be equal in size, but I think I need better mathematics and more work to achieve that, Amos

Yup, it passes, and then some.
The contrast works quite well, should catch the eye quickly.

I do not know if this would work but I just thought of it when I read your post
If you drill 2 blanks ready for the tube, 1 of each timber and then cut them in half and glue back on the other timber and then do the same again but rotated 90 degrees this would give you 4 equal sections or close to it.
You would need to re-drill the hole but it should be self centring.
I hope this make sense and and as I said I just thought of it so I have not tried it out.Cheers Rum Pig
