Think you are correct about timber, The Gemstones are beautiful , but wood is my favoured material, there are just so many variations of natural grain and colour that it is always a unique experience to turn something out of wood. Amos

Love them all, and the presentation boxes are great - very professional.

sorry for the late reply
Amos,
The pens you've posted are superior. Envy is not becoming, I know, but it is what it is. I keep going back and looking at them. Well done.
If I have to remove ca, I use thinner and or nail polish remover, then replenish moisture with BLO followed by thin ca spread with the plastic bag that the parts come in, air dry, then sand again with 400 grit so the dust fills the holes. Another coat of thin ca,dry,0000 steel wool and then go to the MM steps. Finally, I use deft brush on lacquer, the only finish I use on wood.Glenn McCullough
