    Default European Olive Collection

Absolutely delighted with the European Olive blanks I recently acquired. A few extras were thrown in because they were "seconds" but most didn't require any treatment except for cutting them to suit the Sierra and Elegant Beauty pen kits - they only need 60mm blanks anyway. The first two pens in these photos were from Old Croc's so-called "seconds" - who said all blanks had to be 125-130mm?
In order, the kits are Sierra, Elegant Beauty, Cigar Ultra. Partitioned, and Cigar. All finished with EEE and Shellawax Glow.

Thanks for the kind comments. Brainstrust - if memory serves me correctly (and it usually doesn't!) the block is a piece of Red Lancewood given to me by Euge. It is a lovely piece of timber too small for any turning but gets put to good use in pen photographs. And I'm sure Euge will put us straight if my memory is lousy The third pen kit you like, the Cigar Ultra, is a really solid pen, thick, and pretty heavy - not ideal for dainty female hands, but for the blokes it balances out the beer in their other hand!

Thanks, Peter. I know you really like the Olive wood and have posted some great pens of that timber. What else do you have coming up to show us?

I really have some smashing blanks currently battling through tiredness and the need to regroup but hope is eternal and I feel fulfilled with my pens.

    Kind regards Peter.
