    Default Experiment with "Pen" Box

About 2 years ago I purchased this box with the idea of making an insert and turning it into a Pen Box, finally, I purchased some Foam from Clark Rubber--ps it cost a small fortune---, Then made a template and cut with the Laser Engraver. All a new learning curve, I can see how I could make this a double or triple for pens or a pen and letter opener, I need to source some cheaper foam and a variety of colours , say green , blue, black,; Thought I would share this and get your comments. Thanks Amos

    Amos......... You're an ideas man!

They look spot on. The laser gives a very nice clean cut - you could make inserts for anything.

Amos. Great work. Try Martins Foam and Rubber. (07) 3349 7333 They have a wide variety much cheaper than Clark

Neat idea Amos. To be honest, the box is too large and too nice to use for just one pen. It looks like you have enough room width wise, to place full size exotic pens in a vertical position. I would do a 3 a.m. dumpster dive at Clark rubber and grab another piece of foam, and place 5 or 6 exotic pens vertically for a really nice display case. One pen looks a bit 'lost' in the middle of the box. At least your assured of a cushioned landing when dumpster diving at Clark Rubber ! If you don't want to do it, bribe the kid down the street

Thumbs up You're on to something good Amos.

Amos a single pen looks a little lonely in that box. I was wondering though how a single pen would look if it were placed on an angle from the horizontal you have them in now? Not necessarily corner to corner, maybe 2:00 o'clock type of thing.

Some very nice pens there too!

Good ideas about the loneliness!!, I purchased enough Foam to experiment, so I will think about a display .
I would love a box like that at about half the length and 3/4 of the width, would suit one or two. Amos

    Amos,

That box and its size to me looks to be ideal to house a complete matching set. I reckon a higher end kit including a fountain pen, Rollerball, pencil and letter opener would make a great collectors piece. I guess the problem would be finding matching components to make such a set.

    Cheers
    Tony.
