First "fat" pen - Karelian Birch
Brought several blanks of Karelian Birch from my trip to Russia. Recently made my first "fat" pens (before tried only slimlines).

Very, very nice indeed sire!!
I have a solitary piece of Masur Birch that needs reshaping into something like that.

Okee Dokee cobber that is very nice. Love the timber and the way you have produced a very nice pen.

Beautiful timber
Could be photo, but looks like you are under at one end and over at the other on the actual pen (ie not cap). Not sure of your kit, but sometimes they are different at each end (ie bush sizes different by a smidgen), so you need to check assembly of them. I know JR Gents for example are different and I have many times assembled them the wrong way around.Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new

This is JR Gent - so it is indeed possible that I assembled it wrong way, since I didn't realize that the sizes are slightly different! The good thing, is that in real pen (i.e. not on 'magnified' photo) this is barely visible, and the new owner, who got this as a gift, is quite happy with the pen

Very nice timber and a job well done. I agree with dai sensei, although it looks to me that the end of the blanks were not squared off before assembly which shows up a small gap. Nevertheless, keep on at it.
