A feather and a leaf PC
Although I'm sure not the professional method for feathers, I do have a method that works for now, just takes time. It is fine for those of you who want to do the odd one, like someone's pet budgie , I'll do a WIP later.
Here is a Dayacom Roller Ball Titanium Gold made with Ringneck Pheasant feathers. I really like how the feathers came out.
Also included is a leaf polymer clay, not quite hapy with the fit at the nib end, so might redo and add a bit more CA. Don't ask what happened to the watch parts pen, lets just say I stuffed up

Both look great Neil !! well done on your effort.
I like the way the feather pen has turned out and look forward to reviewing your WIP later. The polymere clay leaf pen looks really good, the amount of detail in it is awesome
Cheers
Tony.

Did you make the PC one yourself Neil? I've been so tied up with other stuff, I haven't done any PC for a while, but that's going to change soon due to the Aussie Day swap
How'd you find turning it. Have to be careful due to the softness, or you'll be down to the tube before you know it

Great job Neil. I take my hat off to you. I've had a go at the feathers myself and no bubbles & turned well but I lost a lot of colour from the feathers so I need to go back to the drawing board.
Good job on the PC as well.
Cheers

I buy the canes raw, then slice and roll them, mostly on a base layer of PC. I tend not to turn it, just roll it on a glass cutting board to just under the required size, then build it up to size using CA. That's why some of my leaves and other shapes get a bit distorted .
I tried casting it, but PR does doesn't stick well enough to it, so tends to peel off. My biggest problem with the PC is it spinning on the brass sleeve and having to reglue it. Big hint to all, do not try CA to do this, even the thick stuff goes off way to fast to get the tube back in
Nothing on TV, so might start the feather WIP tonight.

Both are exceptional looking, but the PC is intriguing to say the least.
