Fernwood
Neil (dai sensei) dropped in for a quick coffee and chat Friday, while he was here I got him to cut up some fernwood into pen blanks for me . Wicked stuff to work with ,and I learnt a lot from the first one Number one paint tubes black lol. When I was nearly to size I could see the tube where clear CA had run through channels and holes to the brass, not obvious till that stage ,needed to keep adding CA as it was turned as some hard almost black , and soft punky in between, I played dentist with a dremel and filled with ca and coffee , several times hehe, Any way here's the result ,quite nice but much harder than I thought it would be originally. . Cheers ~ John (Hybrid cambridge )
G'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

Top shelf John, that looks good. Would have been a few 'clenching' moments while turning that one.
