    Default Field notebook pen

Hey all, its been a while since I made/posted anything as I'm a sea going sailor for the next 18 months or so

I needed a small pen for my notebook at work so I modified a teachers pen (only used one end and cut the middle barrel to suit). My jobs trade symbol are the crossed Indian Clubs so I used a baseball bat (looks close enough to a club) to represent my job.

The wood is Gidgee and finished with Shellawax Glow.

    Good looking pen.

Change in roles or just a rotation?

Just a rotation... apparently we're supposed to do some sea time every now and then in the Navy

Thanks guys, the upcoming trip is just a quick one up North with a couple of visits to Brisbane and one to Mackay. The ship is in refit from late Oct until Mar/Apr so will be working out of Sydney for that period and getting a fair bit of riding in hopefully

It must be so hard going to sea again. You should take your lathe with you, only if I could.

I can relate to that going to see Business but being being a former Navy Musician you didn't get to spend a hell of a lot of time at sea. 12 months in 10 years I don't know what your sea to shore rate is Corbs and I reckon Davids would be a shocker lol.

Of my first 7 years in the Navy nearly 5 were posted to ships... I had a good run of shore postings and am now a few months short of Tier 3 which is over 6 years sea postings. Have a bit less than 18 months left on this one which should just about see me through my sea going time for the Navy
