the ongoing joke that I make is that every man's wedding ring is like the "one ring" from the tolkien books, but instead of the eye of mordor seeing you it's the eye of the missus, and an evil voice saying "you're having fun with your friends! I see you!"

lathe is back! they said the bearings that were in it looked fine but they were definitely rattling to me. It was intermittent but definitely would develop into a problem. Thing runs perfectly now. They put a slightly tighter bearing into the handwheel side apparently but it seems smooth as silk to me. Maybe the original one wasn't quite right? But anyway...

On my next day off i'll celebrate by turning some of the 20 pens i have drilled, glued and milled. Had to do something while i was latheless.
