Finished a few
Hey all,
Have had a few of these on the go for a while but I had a burst of inspiration today and decided to finish a few.
Pens are as follows:
1193 (left to right)
Myrtle in gun metal (slimline)
Sheoak in gun metal (slimline)
Teak in gold (slimline)
Teak in gold (Teak is from the deck of Young Endeavour) (sierra)
Purple Glamourz in Black Chrome (sierra)
Qld Maple with myrtle & black veneer in gold (sierra)
Eucalyptus Burl in two tone chrome (sierra)
Purple Acacia in silver (sedona fountain pen)
1194 (left to right) (all slimlines)
Mango in gun metal
Cypress in black chrome
Cypress in black chrome
Bronco's acrylic in gun metal
Blue acrylic in gun metal
Orange acrylic in gold
Myrtle in black enamel
Incomplete unknown wood. Inlay is myrtle & black veneer. This one is for the Chaplain onboard who wanted the knot and I added the cross for the top section. It will have a cross clip on it too but I was in the mood to play.
All wood slimlines are sanded to 2000 then finished with Shellawax, acrylics to 12000. All others are CA finish and sanded to 12000.

Great looking pens there corbs.
Would have to say the Euc Burl 2 tone Chrome Sierra is my favourite.
Very impressed with the segmented slimline as well, that can't have been easy to turn!

Thanks all,
Jason, the stand is from Addictive here
I wasn't so sure of the Euc Burl when I put it together but its growing on me. The segmented slimline I took my time with, fine cuts and a couple of sharpens as I progressed. At each sharpen I also soaked the blanks in super thin CA to hold it all together (learnt that one the hard way).

FC,
You got me, its Forest Oak but 99% of people can't tell the difference and Sheoak is what they know so I just call it that

Would you like to see a bigger pic of it in a finished pen or a piece of the original board. I picked it up from a guy in Newcastle about 12 months ago.

It is midnight, I was going to comment on all your pens individually as they deserve however I fear sleep calls me so may I say they make a colourful array, sited on a neat stand and display a variety of designs, you are having lots of experimenting with variations and special cuts and I look forward to your efforts with great interest.
Regards Peter.
