Default A New Cigar with Ash

Black Walnut (USA) and Bimble Box Burl, the kit inside started life as a Jr Gent. I only sanded it with a very light touch of 240 and then applied some shellawax without enthusiasm, in order that I got a roughness that emulates a cigar. Also closed double end, made the mandrels for it. I'm pretty happy with it, I can do better after this first one, but I am happy. Hope you are, but if your not say so, I'll only cry. Any comments welcome.

love it undies, great concept, the only thing i rekon is the grain matching but perhaps its just the pic. Top job mate, i have yet to attempt a closed end of any variety, really well done, love the finish and the sticker touch.

And on top of that what a top idea for a new place to hold ya pen, in the mouth. Might have a market for the smoking quitters too.

Thanks Neal, yeah who woulda thunk of putting a pen in your mouth. Mate I tried all sorts of ways to make the grain line up and it defeated me, they came from the same piece and the cut end is matching the cut end, but even now I can't find where that grain matches, bugger.
What's even more of a bugger is I just found it a 1/4 turn off, sheeeit. never mind
Nah the 1/4 turn isn't right either, buggered if I know, maybe I turned one end around, I know I marked 'em, but I do have oldtimers disease.

Great job undies. I really like it. I've yet to try a closed end pen, but I'll try one soon.

Good stuff, I like it !!

With the grain matchup - we are allowed to have slipups on our prototypes

Great work undies that has come up a treat and will be a big hit with the smoking fraternity. I like your added touch with the ashtray.

For lining up the grain when I cut my blanks I mark the outside as everyone does and after I square the ends i transfer the mark to the inside on the brass tube that way you get the grain lined up every time. I hope that makes sense
