    Default Flight of fancy

Waiting down the road I cruised in to Cash Converters and had a gaze at what they had. This is where I found the micrometers I turned into pens. Spied three darts in a box and as it turned out paid retail for second hand ( pays to check around)

Using two of these Darts and one other from another set modified a Slimline to form a Dart Pen. This has both entertainment and commercial properties.

If you have dart friends casually keep score with one of these and impress the socks off them. Hope you like my idea from innovator Peters workshop.

    Peter

    Thats a great looking pen.

You won't have the problem of the pen slipping out of your hands.

Must be a heavy sucker too!

    Default Hi David

Just weighed the pen compared with wood pens that weigh about 25 grams,
my Dart Pen weighs 37 grams and the pen Sierra you made for me in Conkerberry weighs in at 48 grams. Interesting exercise. There is only hollowed metal in the pen.Would you contact Amos and suggest a better way than turning off reject pens to save brasses because I am sure that is quite a waste of time and effort let alone the extra stress on the brass compared with new brass.
Trust you are getting your work done and coping with maybe sleepless nights.

    Warm regards Peter.

Hello Peter, nifty idea and good looking pens. Thanks for the advice about the brass tubes, i guess that is why they still sit there as they came off the lathe, as a stark reminder to do better next time. Amos

    Hi Peter

The two girls came home today, so there will be little sleeping tonight. I sleep with the two boys in the boys room so hopefully I can get a few hours sleep tonight - feel sorry for the wife but.

With the brasses, I don't try to recover them any more. The are cheap enough now that I just do what Amos does and keep them in a box or chuck them in the bin. My time is worth more than the 15c it cost to buy.

    Timberbits.
