Did folks know ....?
Not sure if this is utterly OLD information to every pen turning person but just in case someone might find it valuable/inspiring here it is:
While visiting a couple of Melbourne bushinesses and trawling the web looking for pen-related items, I discovered an Australian pen designers/maker who is known around the world for their high quality penmanship (heh)
CURTIS PENS are in Bairnsdale, Victoria and they make a very nice range of off the shelf pens as well as Limited Edition items. In addition (for the mega-rich I imagine) they will make a one-off as a commission.
I just think this is a killer idea and a very interesting business model ,especially in the world of mass manufacturing where reputation results from marketing not product quality.
... and for the record, I have NO association with said pen firm.Steve

here are some pics of their items - they may not be to everyone's taste however I believe folks will appreciate the craftsmanship in their design and creation. I believe these are the equal of the big name pen companies of the world, who routinely create Limited Edition pens that sell out rapidly, THEN increase in value with each passing year.
I say "well done" to this Aussie business.Steve

Curtis Australia have a great story, and their work is first class. Easily my favourite 'brand name' pen manufacturer.

maybe there already is one, but perhaps a 'BEST IN CLASS" area could be started in the pen forum space? I have a range of stunning pen images that I feel would be a worthy inclusion

here is another one I think is significant - not for everyone of course, but an interesting and extremely expensive pen.
