    Default Foot Operated Sharpening Stone

About to be put out to pasture,it has a platform for conversion to motor drive. A first class example of Aussie enginuity early last century.

My new sharpening stone will become the main one now.

    Enjoy Peter

    Neat.

Coincidentally there is a singer sewing machine about 20 feet behind me with that same frame, one of the ones where the top was hinged, you lifted that and set it down and it became a work area off to your left, then the sewing machine lifted up and locked into position, then when you were done, you folded the machine back down into the cabinet, and closed the top. It works surprisingly well, you can really get up speed with that footpedal, great invention.
    Wood. Such a wonderful substance.

    Default Matt

Hi we have my mums she was given it in 1917 as a young girl it was second hand then,it is mint,my dearly beloved uses it as a sewing desk, covenient drawers etc.It has tremendous value to me,I can visualise my Mum making articles for her family as well as for the war effort in the forties, presents for kids whose dads like mine were serving overseas. Was thinking of offering the sanding unit to a museum or something.
    Regards Peter
