My first Fountain Pen - Cypress Baron
I just finished my first fountain pen - well, my first succesful one anyhow The one before turned out beautifully, except I didn't fully read the instructions and forgot to insert one of the plastic couplers and then ruined the pen trying to pull it apart
This pen is made from the same Cypress Pine picket wood as my last couple, and I intend to include it with one of the Elegant Beauty's in a gift box as a birthday gift. What do you all think?
Cheers,
John

Looks good to me ,is it a "Baron" ? as you can see the better kits rely less on the dressing you give them , and still look good. With a proper set of pin punches you can get almost any kit apart without damage as you can get much closer to the size of the tube ,so less chance of slipping off the small edges you have to deal with in some cases.Doesn't matter how many you do, mistakes happen and the trick is how to fix them hehe. Cheers ~ John

Yes it's a Baron kit which I purchased from Addictive Pens. Definitely a beatiful kit.
I can't picture what you mean by "a proper set of pin punches" - I'll do a bit of research next time I need to pull a pen apart. I stupidly tried to pull it apart using pliers, but very quickly ruined the kit even though I thought I was being careful - still didn't get the thing apart either
