Fountain pen nibs question
I would appreciate some assistance regarding fountain pen replacement nibs.
I have a customer who has asked if it was possible to replace the standard medium nib on an Dayacom Emperor pen with a wide/thick nib.
I understand that this is possible, but can those with more experience please guide me to suppliers for these nibs and if possible the process involved.
Many thanks

Charlie, when you say "wide thick nib" do you mean a Calligraphy Nib???
The standard nibs are 1. Fine 2. Medium and 3. Thick
Crafts Supply USA used to have the thicker nibs available. AmosGood, better, best, never let it rest;

Thanks Amos,
I wasn't sure of the appropriate terminology used, still learning 'bout fountain pens.
I do mean replacing the medium nib with a thick one.
I'll checkout Craft Supply, thanks.Last edited by CharlieC; 14th September 2011 at 10:03 PM. Reason: spelling

Bear in mind that the thick nib will use a *lot* more ink than a fine or medium one will. Much more than double...

Thanks for the heads up Dave, didn't think of that good to know.
After hours of searching here, IAP and google, I think I now have my head around it now.
The main thing I was having a problem with was finding the broad nibs, seems all the replacement options were fine and medium.
However, Amos pointed me straight, Craft Supplies USA sell fine, medium and broad replacement nibs in both sizes, #5 for Jr kits, sedonas etc... and #6 for full sized kits.
Cheers

Good to see that I got something right!!!, PS remember if the customer wants a really good nib, the gold 750k nibs are supposed to be best, but costs can be $60 and upwards, Amos PPS if you want Private Reserve Ink in cartridges-I have some-send a pm if you need some, it is a good quality ink. Amos
