FREE Camphor laurel for pen turning
Another post on the pen turner's forum because although its timber it relates only to pen turners.
I am heading off to get a trailer load of camphor laurel on Tuesday.
Branch sizes are suitable to pen turning (salt and pepper grinder) only. The timber is cut but probably still green and will need to be cut to blank size when dry. I won't use a trailer load (or what ever I pick up before I get tired ) so anyone in Brisbane who wants some can PM me. It will be equally divided among those who want some (2 lots already claimed - me and Thompy).
Its free to you although its gonna cost me a bottle of vodka to get it so a gold coin to cover costs would be appreciated.
Sorry I won't deliver or post so its a matter of come and get it.
In fact if anyone is free on Tuesday morning early to give me a hand - more than welcome. Have to be at the Tallebudgera by 9am at the very latest (8am or earlier better) but I also have to confirm on Tuesday morning that I can pick it up.

Just remember, branches may be suitable for pen turners size wise, but they don't have any colour . Likewise fast growing multi-trunk trees . The best coloured CL is for very old trees with single stem trunk growing in good soils

Mmm - I will have a look at them and see what they are like. I am told the branches are around leg thickness. That of course is relative to whose leg he is referring to: my skinny legs or something like Mal Meninga
I am after some light coloured timber for decals so it might be ok. No harm in looking though. Thanks for the advice Neil.

Had a minor set back. I will be going down early tomorrow morning to get it (Wednesday). All arranged. I will contact those who want some when I get back.

Thanks Neil
I will call in on the way back. I want to be down there by 8am so an early start. I just have to phone him before I leave to make sure he will be there.
Retirement does funny things to you, I agree. I have no idea what day it is most of the week and I've had to put a magnetic board on the fridge to write a list of things to do on different days

To those who want some CL, sorry I couldn't get it this week. My father is gravely ill and I can't get away at the moment. I have spoken to the supplier and another time can be arranged a bit later.
