Gaboon ebony set
A set in Gaboon ebony, the fountain pen is in Black Ti and the rollerball is in rhodium. The finish is Ubeaut glow as the customer wanted a natural finish. Both sanded and polished to 12kmm. This stuff finishes like glass the pictures do not do justice to the finish.
The rollerball is from Timberbits and the fountain pen form Lau lau Woodworks, the only pplace I know where you can get it.
Thanks for looking

Hi Sam
I can't get over how black the Ebony is. The rhodium plating really shows a contrast between the two materials.
Thanks for sharing.

Great looking pens Sam, you haven't lost your touch.
Like the fountain pen, looks good having no posting end. Would make a nice gift set in a presentation box.
That Ebony sure is black.

Looks very much like the "Zen" from CUSA The Zen cap attaches magnetically so no threads showing . Almost any kit looks good in black hehe and yours are no exception, well done again , cheers ~ John

Thanks everyone.
Fred the pen is postable just hard to see. That's one of the reasons the person wanted the kit as he requested a thinner longer pen. It can be used with or without the cap posted without any loss of balance. His other request was for a dark timber with a natural finish definitely did not want CA or wipe on poly.
John the Zen is a very much cheaper version of this pen I have both and do not like the Zen. One problem the cap comes off very easy and I have one shirt ruined with ink.
My only worry now is will the ebony crack or not?? It is prone to do that.
As for the plating the rhodium wins hands down much more class pity it is not available in the FP

Beautiful work, Sam. A classy duo that anyone would be proud to own. Your workmanship is impeccable as always.

Hi Sam
Deep as the ocean is that beaut black Ebony. I too have Ebony every day pens at the computer and agree Ebony has the ability with use to develop a lovely patina all of its own that will maintain that fresh look, you may remember my showing one of them that went the full cycles of a long wash in Wilmas machine with the only casualty a refill that emptied inside the pen itself. After a clean and no external cosmetic treatment no visible signs of distress.
Together with the other long pens from the USA on the forum now I have this question is it difficult to drill that length? I agree with your comments on the kit you chose.
Black is beautiful, well done mate.
Regards Peter.
