Gallipoli set
A loooooonnnnnnggggggg time ago I was asked to make a couple of pens as a Gallipoli set. After some serious setbacks which nearly saw me give it all up I have finally finished.
The pen on the left is a 303 British bullet in Red Mallee burl and the one on the left is a Mauser bullet in Turkish Walnut.
I'm pretty happy with how they turned out and have no interest at all in making any more of themIt's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Yes ,your heart must be in it to enjoy the process , I guess you stuck to the cross type refills ,generally the easiest option They have come up very nicely so you obviously thought a lot about making them , what finish on the brass ,or just good old brasso hehe, cheers ~ John

Very well done. If you did not stick with this then we would not have seen them.

Nicely done Corbs. I can understand not wanting to do any more, making bullet pens from scratch can give you a lot of problems to overcome.
I like the challenge so I keep doing them.
One of the local RSL guys keeps telling me he is going to give me some of his 303 cartridges to get some pens made. I will tell him about your set, that might give him a bit of an urge to dig them out of his shed.Brad.

Thanks guys, they went off in the mail today and I haven't told the recipient they're finished so hopefully it will be a nice surprise when they turn up.
John, I started these nearly three years ago so I have no idea what finish I put on them. I think they're dipped in some sort of clear finish but I've no idea what it isIt's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Beautiful pens Corbs. I like the way you have added the history from both sides of the conflict. They should be very popular

Nice job Andrew (eventually), personally I love bullet pens that have been made from scratch and that pair look great.
