    Default Gold Spanner Click

A gold spanner pen. Components are from Steve's Woodcraft.

Timber is in the old days known as slash pine, called plantation pine nowadays. It was cut very close to the heart of the log because of the pin eyes that run throughout the blank.

I know some would be thinking, now why would someone make a pen out of plantation pine? What a waste of a set of components some would think? Before judgement is made, this is why.

No matter what it is timber from an item has meaning to people no matter the source of it. Whether a historical building or witness wood.

This particular piece came from the very first pallet of stock unloaded at Bundaberg Total Tools store before they opened. This will be going to a manager that is being mentored by the Bundaberg Total Tools store manager.

So a plain piece of plantation pine, insignificant to some but significant to others and the part it played in the store's journey.

I hope you enjoy viewing this pen as much as I did making it.20220304_205831_1646392607359.jpg20220304_205849_1646392663098.jpg20220304_205903_1646392752777.jpg

Nice work mate, I’m sure he’ll treasure it. And the timber has enough character to pass the mark
