Greetings and g'day
Greetings and G'day
It has been awhile since I have been here and just wanted to let everyone know that I am getting better in most ways. Still a disabled Vet in a wheelchair. I wanted to share with you somthing that touched my life very much.
A friend of mine named Mike on another website found a gentleman who was also disabled and had the same tools I had and modified them to his wheelchair height. Well the gentleman got in touch with me from the LumberJocks and within 2 weeks the Vets got together enough money to have another gentleman that helps others to help me.
Here is the link of what he done and my picture of him and me. He came all the way from New Mexico which is about a 1500 mile drive.
from RED , thru WHITE , to BLUE - by patron @ LumberJocks.com ~ woodworking community
I want everyone to notice the table he made to lower the lathe for me which was about shoulder height. Also see the great idea he had for wood storage at my height also.
I just wanted to show my friends here what was going on in my life. I have also bought a respirator with charcoal filters so I will not get any dust into my lungs.
I will be able to be in the pen swap this coming year and looking foward to it.
All the Best
Cheers
Arlin

I think having a purpose and drive to achieve it is very benificial to well being ,as long as we feel useful then that is the important thing ,being able to do what we love doing and giving others pleasure from what we do is as good as it gets ,enjoy your modified w/shop and be happy Cheers ~ John

G'day
Now that I am getting started turning pens again, how do I go about getting some of the Aussie pens that I have seen. Is there a place to buy them that takes paypal?
Cheers

Thank you for the encouragement. I went out to the shed and tried to turn a bowl and went thru the side. Now it is a small platter.
I am looking foward to the next pen swap and all the photos again
