help decide on a kit
hi guys
a few weeks ago i found out that EXOTICS in the states had some really amazing blanks COCOBOLO BURL the only thing they cost $24 usd a blank i stiil bought 3
the pics looked good on the site they landed today and are so much better than on the web along with a piece of casein and a new truestone mexican agate ( sooooo my new favorite truestone )
anyway im trying to work out what kits i should use on the casein and 1 COCOBURL BURL as its rare as hens teeth want to stash the others for a rainy day
and has anyone turned real casein and what to expect and the finish
so im asking for your thoughts on a kit to suit these really amazing blanks

I think whatever you make will be a beautiful pen, Maybe a cambridge or one of Penstates David broadwells art Nouveau kits , a bit classy but not super high end ,if you went to high end hard to go past the full majestic . Personally I would try for 2 pens from one blank ,maybe an elegant beauty or good quality Sierra , this will give you a more affordable pen and something you can show prospective customers looking for something special
Cheers ~ JohnG'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

Nice haul Troy.
The burl isnt really Slimline fodder is it. I would look at a Statesman full size or Jr.
GPW have some upmarket Sierra's on their website, if you are going that way.

What ever you choose make it a classy pen as it needs to show up the blank. Majestic is a favourite of mine but its mainly a special purpose pen or a display pen.
Can't wait to see the results.

Those blanks are too good for a Sierra, I would certainly be looking at one of the high end pen kits for those.
Reality is no background music.
Cheers John
