    Default Help finding a kit

I have been browsing every site I can find that seels pen kits and can not seem to find what I want. Seeing that I am just getting into pen turning and most here are way ahead of me I figured someone might be able to quickly point me in the proper direction. I am looking for the style of the twist top cigar pen, however I want all of the metal to be stainless steel and for the pen to use gel ink. I like the look of the Berea Cigar Hybrid 18C but would need the metal pieces to be stainless and gel ink instead of ballpoint. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lastly if this is something that can not be found does anyone know if the metal clips in these kits can be engraved? THe reason I ask is most of them seem like they are plated so I would think that engraving them would not work.

I do not think you will find stainless but you can get chrome and then just upgrade the ink to a gel tip
here is a link to one supplier that sells the chrome.

I do not know about the engraving but you can always engrave the timber.

Good luck and let us know how you go

    G'day,

I have seen this site which states it does metal finials for the tops of pens. Other than look at the site I can tell you nothing, I have placed no orders from them, and have no idea as to how good they are. Maybe other members can help here?

I would prefer not to engrave the wood.

Now a final that can have an initial engraved in it would be nice.

I guess I could always order a kit, have the clip engraved and see what it looks like once it is done.

Adynaton - can you recall the name of the site where you saw the metal finals?

    G'day jdkno,

    Here is the site.
Metal and Domed Logo Pen Kit Components

I was going to warn you that some US sites don't deliver to Australia, but can see that's not a problem

I would be pleased if you would report back if you use them for the benefit of the members
