    Default Historical Moreton Bay Fig

This is from a piece of timber my BIL gave me he was there when the tree was felled. Unsure why it came down but it was from the Watson Bay in Sydney Park reputed to be over 100 years old.

The kit is a two tone copper Sierra and the finish is WOP.

I tried a few kits but the copper did it the best justice

BTW this one is for you Allan just to show you a have not got fully absorbed in plastic although I have been casting today or should I say experimenting.

Nice work Sam. Good combination of kit and timber, you chose well.

    Very nice pen Sam
not sure I would have tried the copper kit but looks good

Learn something new everyday - didn't realise Morton Bay Fig would have such nice grain. got a feeling someone gave me a small piece - will have to look.

unfortunately some of the MB figs in Sydney parks were succumbing to disease and had to be removed. Pity really as they are magnificent trees. They removed a lot from Centennial Park in the city

Sam, you shouldn't make such nice looking pens out of Moreton Bay Fig!Now the ones in Melbourne will become endangered!, things like broken branches!, Amos
