Huon Pine Emperor
A Huon Pine Emperor with CA finish.
I am pretty pleased with this one, had previously used this kit in a Musk Burl, but wasn't happy with it.
Dismantling this kit became a pain in the neck, and a litle nerve racking, given the value of it.

Huon Pine Emperor
Hello Mag
Just wondering if that timber is available from any pen turning suppliers.
It is a very nice timber and complements the Emperor beautifully
Acredit to you. Well done

A particularly nice bit of "birds-eye " huon possibly a little too good hehe, but then nothing about those kits is understated hehe! Well done indeed. A good set of transfer punches is a safe way to dismantle some of these more expensive kits as you can match the punch pretty well with the needed bore size ,especially with the plastic inserts they like to use . Cheers ~ John

Daryl,
The Huon Pine that I have was given to me as offcuts by a friend.
I am also in need of more, so will be going to the West Coast (of Tas) to source some soon.
If I find more than I need I will make any extra available through the forum.

Very nice looking Emperor.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.
