J R Bushes
I firstly want to say that I am not having a go at Carba-Tec they have been very helpful. I recently bought 4 JR's that were on special with them I also purchased bushes for them as I have never turned one before. Birds eye Maple blanks turned and 20 odd coats of WOP. Looking very nice Put it together only to find that the bushes on the lower tube were the same size (.480") instead of the one for the nib end of the tube which should be (.512"). So had to scrap it as the Trim Ring was proud of the blank and felt very uncomfortable to hold.
I contacted Carba-Tec Bris and told them what had happened and they checked the bushes they had and found that the supplier who turned them turned the nib and cap bushes the same size. So if you have recently bought bushes for the JR Gent 2 check before turning.
Againg thaks to Carba-Tec for your assistance. The Ox moves slowly across the mountain

Pasho, that is another good reason to measure the kit up with digital calipers , then when getting close to the end measure up how much more to remove, if something like that happened it would show up and you might save an expensive blank. Amos

Same problem. I measured the bushings at 12.30mm and the pen bits at 12.12 and 12.16.
Rather annoying

You would hope that the version 1 bushings would have been well and truly gone from the shelves by now.
This happened to me with the first two Jr's I made about three years ago which came from Carba-Tec. The fountain pen I got suited the bushings (V2), but the rollerball kit was the old one with the faceted section like the Baron. Obviously the bushes were no good for the Rollerball.
