Indonesion Rosewood Panache
This is the second of these Panache kits I have done , I had a visitor today and demonstrated my CA finish tecnique ,all good till I came to assembly and found I had turned the blanks to the wrong sizes, (no bushes) the sizes were correct but on the wrong ends I had to turn one down and a new one for the other ,ah well it can happen . But I noticed with this kit from Rihzing that it seems to have a design flaw in that the largest dia fitting on the pen part has a slight dome (not flat, whereas the cap is flat, seems upside down to me as to sit it upright on a desk you need to sit it on the smaller dia of the cup, making the whole thing seem out of balance ,any way I sent off a mail to Rihzing with my observations ,see what they make of it , This very dark and very figured ,I tried to lighten it a bit ,but photoshopping is not one of my skills cheers ~ John
G'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

Very nice piece of wood there John. Unfortunately we all make mistakes no matter our depth of experience
I made my first Cigar a while ago and turned the small diameter on the short tube and large dia on the long tube. Thought I knew what i was doing without looking at the instructions (remember I'm a male - we don't read instructions). All seemed okay until I went to put the refill in and found it wouldn't retract all the way. I had to grind a bit off the top of the refill to shorten it. All's good to look at, but it stays with me now.Dallas

Looks good, you recovered well. I don't think you'll get anywhere with Rizheng. I tried Photoshopping but did not make much difference! Amos

Looks good John. That is a beautiful piece of timber. Better than PNG Rosewood. If you haven't already got it, you could try using Picassa http://picasa.google.com.au/ to edit your photos and allow you to brighten them up and alter the contrast. It is free and has some great capabilities including the orderly storeage of photos.
lol - The smaller bushings for those Cigar pens are a bit of a pain being so close in size. I hold them back to back to get the smallest size. Its always a pain when you have 4 different bushing sizes for one pen. These things are sent to try us.
