One of the invaders!
Since y'all have had plenty of time to hide your wood stashes I figured I should go ahead and post a couple pens for you.
My passion in pen turning is doing segmented work. It allows to to enjoy contrasting multiple colors of wood as well as the kit color to create something that will be both pleasing and compelling to potential customers.
WOW! That sounded way too official. I need a beer! Or what do y'all call the cold beverage that tends to spill down your chin after about 12?
So here are a few of my early segmented pens.
The first on is called something Curly This segmented Baron style pen consists of Curly Koa, Curly Maple, Curly Mesquite, and Curly Myrtle wood.
The second one consists of blood wood and curly maple.
The third is a modified Sierra that I gave to my wife. My laser engraver engraved the rose for me. The pen is Blank dyed BEB.
Is this how we are supposed to show pictures? Or are we supposed to just embed them in the post?

They are very nice Ron MC.
You have got some very nice clean glue lines there.
As for posting the pictures, you have done it the prefered way. Some of our members are on dial up and this is the quickest way for them to open a page. Also because you have submitted the picture into the database, people can still look at the picture done the track if they wish to do so.Cheers

Let's try this again...Hey mates, what is your preferred term for a good cold (unless you like it warm) beer?

Young Ron
you mentioned a laser engraver; would that be a diy or pre-assembled?

Young Ron? Have you looked at my website? Young I am not. Only at heart.
I'm not sure what your are asking since my engraver takes care of it.
I will tell you this....I bring him a pen and then we program the computer to tell the engraver to do what we want. Then the beam of light does it's job.

I think he was asking "By laser engraver do you mean the job or do you own the tool?"
Seriously nice pens, BTW.

Very nice pens Ron.
Definately a candidate for the pen swaps, pity you are in US, but maybe the postage isn't too much:confused:Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new

Hey Ron
A cold beer is known as a coldie, a tinnie or a stubbie, then you have your tallies (big bottle of beer). You can get a 10 oz glass which is called a pot, 20 oz glass is called a schooner and then there is your pint. Have to say my favourite brew is Kilkenny Ale, not as heavy as Guiness but still has that nice creamy head.
Cheers
