Ronin,
Now comes the easy part select the pairs ( I use rubber bands to mate them for convenience) ,drill, fit the brasses and turn them. I can see some fine pens in there, have fun in the making.
Regards Peter.

You should not be bored. Convert those blanks into pens, sell them, buy more wood. Easy

I am not even going to try and go through my lot, have boxes and baskets of blanks everywhere.
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Like Corbs got boxes everywhere and stacked on the bench, close to 2000 now and still cutting. Never have enough blanks.

Yeah, me too. And I'm still cutting pen blanks out of offcuts that're "too good to throw away." At least they pack compactly and don't take up much space... yet.

yeah
I think I've three times as many blanks as pens I've made but I ask "what is wrong with collecting little bits of timber
then there's the pen planks in waiting ie the bits of too nice timber yet to be sliced and diced
and then there's the "I knew what this was when I cut it up but what the hell is it now?" I know Al something ...
