Where Does Jack Live
Here A genuine certified Jack Daniels American White Oak pen blank from David aka Timberbits dressing out a gun metal and chrome Sierra. In the first photo I thought I had been lax in finishing and there was a white speck towards the nib end but on checking there was nothing. This will be my last pen for a while, as I have surgery on my left knee so will be out of action for a bit. Hope you like the photos and comments and critique always are welcome.
Cheers
Darren

Nice Pen Darren, I guess the little authentication certificate may be a good little selling tool. Good luck with the surgery.
Cheers
Tony.

Yes when you buy the pen blanks from Timberbits you get the certificates of authenticity. They do help in the selling process, people like to know where the timber comes from, like BOW and Irish Bog Oak as well. Thanks, having part of my meniscus removed, medial ligament repaired and 2 pieces of floating bone removed. Have one of the best doing the surgery so all will be good.

Hi Darren,
Gday old mate sorry for your need for surgery we two will be praying for your sure recovery as well.,,I had a Bundy stave years ago it smelt incredible even though many years old away from the fluid. I have turned from a stave of French Oak as well enjoyed that.
Your pen shown is delightful, simple lines, clean in presentation as well. One of our daughters arrives for a month last day of this month as designated driver I will be nearly off air however I have a few pens to show with some special pen rests under way for friends using Burl caps.
Be assured of our kindest regards mate, Peter and Wilma.Nil Desperandum

Hi floody_85, the finish on my pen was 15 coats of thin CA due to a bit of grain that wouldn't fill, normally I use now 10 thin coats of CA. This time I let the CA dry without activator. wet sand with 400 wet and dry stop the lathe and sand with the grain wipe dry then finish wet sanding with Micro Mesh to 12000. The next step is using U-beauts EEE Ultra finish and cut back the finish. The final step, I remove the blank and then buff on a wheel with the grain using Red Dialux polishing rouge.

To answer the question of your thread title, Jack Daniels distillery is in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Ironically, Lynchburg is in a dry county, and sale of booze is forbidden there.
