Default JR Gent - Black Ti - Brown Mallee

This pen is again made for Dayacom. They gave me a parcel of pen kits to make for them. Lucky I didn't have to pay for the pen kits.

    Brown Mallee Burl Pen.

Sanded to 400 grit, 5 coats of thin CA, 4 coats of thick CA to fill the voids, another 5 coats of thin CA. Then 400 grit Micro-mesh to 12,000, Brasso and automotive polish/wax.

As always, your comments or suggestions is always appreciated.

Smooth as. There was some Brown Mallee Burl like that for sale at the WWW held here last week (working with wood show) boy if you can buy that quality ready cut grab it with both arms and wallet (just in case you assume stealing) I have cut so much burl I know the wastage factor.

Thanks for the recipe as well, I have never stopped at 400 that is where I start cause I shape with the skew on the flat that gives me a least that.

    Gotta love that brown mallee.

Mr Dayacom should be proud as punch with your pens you have made so many for him by now.

It seems to finish dark for you this happens to me when I use Boiled Linseed Oil first on B Mallee.

Overall effect is stunning on your pen.

    Regards Peter.

    Hey David,

Very Nice, are you going to get some of them kits?? they would look good with a Curly Jarrah skin on them.

    Very nice
    Flawless finish

It must be a real honer to be asked to make the pens for a company like Dayacom

top notch job, the only problem with not having to pay for them is that you don't get to keep them

but then again the fun is in the making, and the look on peoples faces when you say - 'i made that'

Nice pen... I like the idea of filling with thick CA then the thin over the top... I have been building up with thin but have needed 30+ coats at time to get the finish I want
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Thanks for all the kind remarks.

I would love to supply them, however GPW are the exclusive suppliers of the JR Gents.

If there are enough demand for them, they might bring them in.
