    Default Kitless Feather

This is a proof of concept pen, designed on the fly, and is a little rough around the edges. I think it is the first feathered pen done in the kitless format. Now that I know it is doable I can work on the shape and perfect the how. I took advantage of my girlfriend's (Marla) expertise and had her take care of feathering. What do you think of it?

Cool!, feathers look really great. Nicely done. Not sure about the colour of the rest of the pen, seems a little overpowering but that comes down to personal taste. Very good work.
    Reality is no background music.

    Wow, nice work Pete.
As the other guys said, I also think the turquoise is a bit overbearing for the feathers.
But after seeing the colour combinations on some of the ladies at the horseraces yesterday, maybe its the way now .

The virgin sewer pipe was handy and free and that was the only reason I used it. Future pens will get made with materials that are more appropriate. I appreciate your views.

Very well done I actually don't mind the colour combination.

What size thread is used on the cap and bottom? Triple thread?

The cap to barrel thread is 14 x 0.8 mm triple start. I also have a 12 mm tripple too but haven't played with it yet because I was worried there wouldn't be enough meat left between the thread root of the 12 mm and the crests of the 3/8 x 24 UNF that I have been using for the section to barrel thread. I will look for some metric taps in the same size ranges with finer threads so that I can make slimmer pens. This one is 17.6 mm at the widest point approximately midway up the cap.

Amazing stuff, but the colour. Sorry I agree with most that it is a bit over powering. Very well done tho. Your creative juices are flowing with that one for sure.

Pete I think you have done a good job I like the colour. Are you looking at putting any clips on your next ones?
