Another outstanding pen Les. What comments have you on the new polish you are using?

Love it. Amboyna Burl is definately superb to look at, from what I have read a little bit of work to prepare for turning.
I did a click sierra in plain myrtle.
Overall a mediocre pen, but I found the kit to feel a little tinny, might be better using a better refill with out the adapter neede.

Hello Les, another well finished pen, you make us all green with envy! I guess Les at this stage, it is more a matter of finding high quality kits or different colour kits to suit the high standard of turning you are producing.Amos

The click Sierra pen I have found, is more than a mediocre pen. The click mechanism is far and away a more responsive on the that on a pen 9 which has been prone to sticking and not retracting properly. It also has the ability to be modified to be made without the extension as you can see in the photo.
The refills that come with the kits are a generic parker style refill. One thing I have found is that you can not use a Parker Gel Refill in it with the extension pin properly because it does not have the same hole in the end as a standard parker refill.
Once it has been modified then you can use a standard or the gel refill, depending on which you prefer. Overall I feel and it is my own evaluation the Click Sierra has a positive click transmission and is the most solid of the smaller click mechanism pen on the market.
As with the normal style Sierra they too started as a gold or chrome kit and graduated to other platings. I would say when the volume of sales shows other platings will follow.

Having re-read my post I think I probably didn't quite get across what I meant.
The comment about "overall a mediocre pen" was in regard the turning I did, not the kit.
I think the kit would feel much better with a better refill than was supplied with mine, and from memory this was mentioned in the instructions.
Hope this clears up any confusion.

A beautiful piece of amboyna, Les. I never tire of looking at that timber. As usual, you have done a masterful job on it. Do you find that the amboyna generally sells first at your shows?
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Thanks Sam.
This Hut Ultra Gloss Plastic Polish dose a better job on removing the 12000 MM scratches than the Brasso.
I don't use Micro Mesh or Brasso on Acrylics any more. Just wet sand 400 thru 1500 and polish with the Hut.
Going to try the Hut on Minwax Poly finish today and see how it turns out.

Hi Les
Fantastic looking pen! Hopefully some day I will get mine to look half as good as that!!!
What is the easiest way you have found to apply the CA finish? I have read about just using paper towel to apply it.
Also, on the acrylic pens, how many coats of polish would you apply?
