Knights Templar on Olive
G'day
This is the first pen I've posted here and I hope I get it right, the Laser kit is from Constant Laubscher of lazerlinez, he makes some fantastic kits, I had seen this one done on a Sierra and that is not one of my favorite pen kits, I've had 5 or 6 returned due to the transmission coming unscrewed from the nib section. It's not the pen that is the problem it's customers that keep turning it past it's retract point,. But I digress, I asked Constant if he could do this pattern for a Junior Gentlemen or Statesman and he did so, the pen is a Black TI Jr.Gentleman and olive the Shield is done from Holly and Bloodwood, finished with 6 coats of thin CA and 4 coats of medium CA Wet sanded to 1000 grit and buffed with Chromium Oxide on a commercial buffer.
Sorry for the windy post and the poor photos,

great looking pen mate
olive wood has such great character lines in it
the laser cut kits looks exceptionally good, the biggest problem for us is the cost of postage added on to the kits makes them rather expensive, saying that i am still looking at getting one for myself, not sure which one yet though
i am told they go together very easily with a great fit of all the component pieces
welcome to the aussie forum and i hope to see more of your creations

I understand about the cost of getting things shipped to you, I'd like to get some of the timbers you have same story, the cost per kilo is pretty steep, I worked kits from Kallenshan wood and from Lazerlinez both are easy kits to put together, the Puzzles can give you a fit but once together they do sell pretty fast.
