Been away from the Lathe for a while
Havent been into my shed for about 12 months, got some holidays and got grumpy with the quality of the pens supplied at work. So this afternoon made myself this pen.
Kit - Standard Sierrra
Timber - Queen Ebony Blank
Finish - Danish oil, Shellawax Glow and wax

only two coats, from memory this finish wont last, but that was all I had at hand, will do some more shopping today and get some finishes and a couple more kits as I got some orders
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

Orders? Just when ya think you've succesfully escaped the pen-turning party, you need to jot down a note and...
I love the feel of DO pens. Always have... my fave started off that way! (I must admit that, in all honesty, it's now basically just a patina of skin-oils... But what a lovely finish! )

Yeah the boss saw it and said she wants one, and rugrat No1 (she is 10) wants to learn how they are made. Looks like I also have to clean out the shed so she can get in and learn.
Now I just have to learn the CA Finish thing, been u-tubing it, I think know what I did wrong with my first attempt.I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.
