Leather pen
Here's one made by Jim who is a leather worker. It came up pretty well I thought. His next effort will be another Slimline and a Sierra. Certainly different to the timber pens.

Jim asked me to tell you that the plaiting of each section is actually a 39partX8bight turks_head knot with herringbone weave, topped with 7partX8bight spanish ring knot. Leather strand is 2mm by 0.5mm kangaroo. Needed about 4mtrs of lace and abt 4hrs of fiddling.
A lovely pen. I will post photos of the next ones he makes.
