Limited Edition No.1 set of Vat 95
With kind thanks to Darren(Bdar) for the wood from Vat 95 Bunderberg Rum Distillery, and for some other historical wood he also sent to me.
This is a Statesman Set, the wood is from decommissioned Vat 95 from the Bundaberg Distillery,(it did smell sweet) so I put the shavings into a sealed jar!
Had come difficulty with blow outs towards the end and I am sure it is because I didn't coat the inside of the blank also before putting in the brass tubes-that 'll learn me!
The wood is White American Oak, hope you like them(warts and all) AmosGood, better, best, never let it rest;

I knew there was a reason why I sent them to you Amos, you have certainly done them justice. I chose the right person to give half of what I have. It has warmed my heart to see the work you have done. As to the paperwork we discussed, I am still waiting, but hopefully there will be progress soon. The display boxes are magnificent, and your work exceptional. Well done my friend.

Amos
I agree with everything said about your pens, amongst the most delightful American Oak except Am Oak Burl I have seen. Darren you are a true friend to have shared such quality timber with history and provenance, new way to say have a Bundy.
Regards to the provider and maker. Peter.

PS, I gathered the shavings into glass jars as I was turning, thinking of getting little sealable vials and sending one with each set!? Thanks for you comments one and all, and yes, it was very aromamatic in the workship. Amos

Beautiful set Amos, like the Limited Edition idea and the presentation is just awesome.
Those boxes are beautiful, and really set the tone for the pens.
Quite amazing the difference in colour between the 2 pens.

That is the thing with this White Oak, I say because of the age of it and the amount of rum that the vats have stored over the years. From when you cut it to when you finish it the colour change is unbelievable. Once again Amos your work is out standing, thank you my friend.

Remarkable pens, Amos! The depth of the color is very nice. Too early in the morning here to be thinking about rum though.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.
