Loose sierras
Turned a couple of Sierra blanks today, and they are both really loose on two kits I have tried. I know the fit is meant to only be finger tight so that it can be removed to change the refill, but these are really loose. Any help? I have not inserted the end cap yet, because I don't want to waste the kits if it is not going to work.
Thanks, Simon.

Simon what type of bushes are you using the normal Sierra or taper type if taper type then possible spreading of the tube can happen.

Hi wheelinround. Sorry to waste your time. I just assembled one and it works perfectly. I just never realized how loose the turned blank is compared to the writing tip. I had thought that the pen twisting mechanism was controlled by the turned section (like a slimline etc). I didn't realize that it was actually the end cap of a Sierra which turned he mechanism.
Sorry to worry you with this. Pics to come hopefully tomorrow.

Not all "sierra" types operate the same way .some are pressed on at both ends and are activated by the end bit past the clip ,just check instructions for each kit and you will soon get the idea cheers ~ John
G'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

I got caught the same way the last time I made a sierra.
Tried fitting the tube without the end cap and it was really loose. Panicked thinking I had bought a dud batch of kits. All was ok after I put the end cap on the tube.
