Try Mike Redburn at SilverPenParts I think that's where I got mine from, or it could have been IndyPenDance.

I doubt very much whether you will find one in Oz, unless there is someone willing to sell theirs.

Yes, the Sierra transmission is 8.4x1 as per your thread heading, not 8.5x1 as in your text.

Just be aware that there are different sized sierra threads as well so depending on source you can get caught out ,there is enough difference that they are not interchangeable ,so if you do get a tap to suit what you have make sure you use the same mechanisms from the same place all the time ( I assume you want to do some bullet pens ? ) cheers ~ John

These taps are a special order item, as far as I am aware not available from the normal tap and die sources, like the triple thread ones.

I have just tried a thread cut with my 8.4x1 tap with 3 Sierra transmissions, a Rhizeng labelled one (originally purchased from Timberbits), a Timberbits labelled one (one and the same I believe) and a Berea labelled one.

    All work fine.

I also have the matching 8.4x1 die, but I don't think I have ever used it. Probably seemed like a good idea at the time.

So, do you have a tap for that thread?

The Rhizeng ones I have here all screw in to the 8.4x1 female master I have here very nicely.

Fred ! the rheising ones just go straight in to the standard sierras no thread contact at all I found out when trying to mix and match some other sierras. I have ordered a 8mm X .75 pitch set from the UK to try because there is only a few threads in contact if necessary I can tap with a taper tap till the adapter just fits . I will let you know how it works out in a week or so cheers ~ John
