Majestic Junior
...in Brown Mallee Burl. Timber is courtesy of Darren. Thank you, Darren. The CA finish is thanks to DJ's excellent tutorial. Thank you, DJ. And, thank you Amos, for giving me the moral support to keep trying.
This was on my lathe three evenings trying to get the CA finish just right. Must be twenty coats on it. My nose is all stuffed up from the CA fumes, but it was worth it. I've got half a dozen Majestic kits waiting in the wings now that I've somewhat learned the finish. Think I'll go and buy me a small fan for the shed before attempting any more of this finish though.
Overall, I'm pleased with this kit. The rhodium plating looks nice and shiny and it's supposed to be hardy. Time will tell on that. I made it for a lady I know. Now, I need to make a matching Majestic for her husband so I can present them at the same time. When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Thats a very nice pen well done.
The brown mallee and the kit work well together.
I like that kit I wonder if someone imports that to Oz. I saw another three on TPS and they were also excellent.
Now that I am back doing restricted turning I will have to have a go at DJ's CA finish.

Got it at work, DJ. I'll PM you tomorrow.
Thanks for the encouragement, fellow pen turners! I've been out of it for a little while building hardwood guitar amps. Time I got back to the lathe. When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Al love what you did with the Brown Mallee, I am starting to like the Majestic and it is good they are doing the JR version of it now. The finish and fit are brilliant. You won't have any problems Rhodium fittings, they are quality kits. The lady has a beautiful pen, one you can be proud of

Cisco,
It is hard to go wrong with the brown mallee, and from the looks of it, it is hard to go wrong with that kit. Together, they are stunning. Nicely done.
