    Default MAPLEMAN's blackwood

    Hi folks,

Just in case anyone was wondering - when MM says 'figured blackwood', he ain't kidding! Finished these up today from one of his blanks and decided they were worth showing off:

The fiddleback runs through both pretty equally to my eyes, I just didn't really get a photo which shows it in both simultaneously...

    Cheers,

    Danny

Lovely job - they look fantastic

It could just be me, but the colour/tone of the figured timber really goes with those metal finishes on your kits. I'm not sure it would look as good with bright gold-coloured pen parts?

Yeah, I really like this finish, it goes with just about anything! Plus the sierra and sierra vista match, so they make a good pair.

Wow, they are a couple of really good looking pens. Great timber and well executed.

I agree about the "he ain't kidding" part as I have some and some jacaranda, both of which are very nice. Top timber and very nicely turned pens as well.

One more blank from this batch, the center one of this set obviously!
