Amos,
This pen has been shown by you on its own and with my relationship with Huon Burl I want you to know its a special pen, blessed with superb markings of bark inclusions, all handled well to provide simply unblemished finish to match.
As a complete Philistine with regard to kit useage the shaping of your pen straight as a die excells. With due respect John I have no knowledge of the cost of the kit but you and I know Joe the purchasing punter is even less familiar and will judge this as the outstanding pen it really is.
I would like to place on record the majority of pen kits such as this one look much better sheathed ie both parts together.
Joining with the comment re the pine cone pen previously bit like comparing formulae one cars both outstanding as the majority of your pens matched only by your kindness, attention to detail and fortitude, I value your friendship highly.
Kind regards Peter.Nil Desperandum

Amos ! I am married to a psychic ,and even we never know from one day to the next what will and will not happen on the day. . Sometimes I spend all day talking and don't get sales, other times people will walk up look for 10 seconds ,and say I will have this one thanks . There is nothing certain in sales , all you or anyone can do is put your best foot forward and try . You can do no more than that I used to see the markets as necessary evils ,so I could continue to make pens and enjoy the creative process, I almost hid behind my wife ,after nearly 4 years I enjoy the processes and get great feedback and ideas from the interactions with people ,whether they buy or not ,but it does require that you can build a relationship ,so consistant appearances are needed, not always easy if you have full time work and other commitments , We all make special pens
and when I get victorians and other out of state visitors to my stand ,I never tell them that there are great pen makers in their own states hehe. cheers ~ JohnG'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

Had a quick look through the photos on the other thread and wow - pens, pens, pens. Does anyone know if there is anything similar in Brisbane?

As far as I know, it is the only large Pen Show in Australia, Amos
