Music lover
I like fiddleback wood of any sort and when Vic Wood attended our club the other day with wood for sale I grabbed a small piece of fiddleback Red Gum ... just enough for a pen and perhaps a needle case. Although I purchased other pieces this stood out ... hope you like it.

This is my take on the name RINGED GIDGEE.
I guess down south we could call fiddleback blackwood or redgum "ringed" too.
In Qld such gidgee (or "gidyea" as many call it there) was used for stock whip handles and when drovers passed a tree they would often cut out a small portion / section. When finished the wood handle would show RINGS and hence "ringed gidgee"
