    Sure is some pretty timber, the top half looks like Blackwood but I don't know . What do you reckon Skew?

    Maybe he better send it down to me and then I can compare it with Skew and Rodent

    Yeah, I reckon this needs further hands-on investigation.

    Unfortunately, due to the destructive techniques involved in making a correct identification, we'll probably need a couple of Kg...

    I think I've saod before that it almost looks like a mallee burl.

    Do you know if 'tis an Aussie wood?

    AS far as I am aware it is Oz timber its one of the blanks form Penpal he was not sure of the timber either. I have some brown malee burl and it is not the same
