    Hello to all.
I just wanted to introduce myself: my name is Rikk and I live about 20 miles south of Chicago. I am brand new to turning pens (or turning of any kind). I've had the opportunity to turn two pens at a local Rockler's. As it so often happens, I was hooked! I've purchased a lathe and the needed tools and am ready to get going. There are some good books that I have looked at, but I was wondering, are there are any instructional dvds?

Although most of my time right now is spent at the scroll saw finishing up Christmas gifts, I am looking forward to getting started with pen turning.

    Rikk

    Rikk

Have a look at this to start with: http://www.woodturnerruss.com/Pen10.html

There are also heaps of things on the Forum - just sit down and start reading.

I never got into pens, but my father in law is obsessed....
