    Default opal sierra

blank from wood'n'workshop, opal, silver sierra kit, cleaned bushes, turned between centres, and centres rechecked...sanded #800, wet MM, brasso, SG.

Made this one for my dentist..(never thought i'd do that)..but there it is..special pen for a special gal, when i asked her what her favourite colour was she said "pinks, i dunno, white, or blue, or yellows...dont go to any trouble though..." so covering all bases i think, perhaps she thinks i'm gunna buy her flowers...little does she realise eh.

The pic doesn't quite get the depth, or the colour variation in this blank well, i tried direct sunlight, but the indoor flash pics are these and better.

Great work Neal. That is a lovely pen. Your dentist will love it although I wonder if they deserve it given the amount of pain they put you through. They seem to love drilling into a nerve to see how high a person can jump from the seat

Another beauty Neal. It looks the same blank that Timberbits sells. Called 'Pearl Opal'. One of my fave's but you have to go slow & steady when drilling or you blow the bottom end out or put a hair-line crack in the end, which explodes right at the end of turning to shape, ha ha.

hahahah, no way mate, i've been caught before now on so much "she'll be right" and "nahh, just git her done", and even just havin a mind wander while doing stuff.

I got a little shed time today so thanks to a few new rubber bands i got more organised for kits and preparations, so i'll have a few specialty order pens for display down the track.

Managed to do the other half of this blank in a gold kit sierra, turned out equally well, will get pics later on, also drilled from both sides =).

Fixed my lathe's tailstock handwheel, was cracked, organised some blanks and kits, started on a new lamination project, a sister in law and nephew turned up so got an order for three pens to add to my list.
