osage knight
first spekky pen i have made for a week or so been a bit busy on another project ( routed sign )and making a bulk lot of cheaper pens to be engraved for souvenirs .
anyway my eldest son scored for me a small bit of osage orange the other day so i cut a few blanks from it with the grain and cut a few cross cut ( becoming a fan of the cross cut timber) and turned one blank up and fitted it to a gold knight pen .please excuse the dust on the pen in the pic i always have trouble wiping the dust off for pic taking , i think its the static charge i carry all the time .'If the enemy is in range, so are you.'

Nice bit of timber there and a smart looking pen.

Osage has such vibrant colour, it does go darker with age though, great pen. Amos

it must be the traditional archer in me but i do like the look of osage, they call it mock orange around here
i think it looks better as it starts to turn brown

As time goes on and my levels of experience grows I am more and more drawn to crosscut timbers for added attraction to sometimes bland bits of wood that shows off the best of grain and color ,well done cheers ~ John

thank you people , only trouble is the more i look at the pic the worse the pen looks .
for some reason ( maybe the angle or some thing) but it looks like its a bad fit at the nib end , but is actually not, it is a good fit . i never had much room on the card in my camera so i only took 2 pics and i normally take half a dozen and pick the best of em , but with that pen i only took 2 , one with flash and one without and neither were much good but i whacked it up anyway .
have to empty out the camera cards today after i fix the headlight on the ute and a few other jobs.'If the enemy is in range, so are you.'

Nice looking. I like OO and turn quite a bit of it. Too bad it doesn't keep that color.
BTW, are you saying you have a magnetic personality?
