Osage Orange
From a felled tree in the Canberra area. Slimline modified.
Like shot silk it shimmers.
Regards Peter.

Great looking pen Peter.
I can imagine how nice that pen would shimmer as you turned it around.
What finish did you put on it?
Regards

Wow, I really like this one. Looks much more elegant than the Zebrano in my mind.

Hi David Timberbits
Most all of my pens are cut with a gouge and and then shaped with a flat scraper action 1 inch skew then various grades of paper to at least 2000 grit, then U Beaut triple EEE Polish, then a cream polish, then a brown wax stick. I have made a huge number of pens now and just started my 2nd jar of Triple EEE polish and still on my first wax stick, lately I have taken to using my small buffer adjacent to the lathe and mounted next to the press with a lightly charged same wax stick twice, I handle the pens a lot yet to see finger marks or any sign of severe deterioration in the finish with my everyday pens.
By the way missed you when you came down the other day I had bought a 500 ml two bowl wax melter for you to use with some of or all those pen blanks I recommended you may be interested in, are you happy with them?
Happy Easter Peter.

Simply Beautiful, Peter. Your finish really brought out the color in that timber. Had a chance to pick up a nice slab of that a couple of months ago. Enough for a hundred pen blanks. They wanted $40 and, like a fool, I passed it up.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.
