Thumbs up Few More of My Own Castings

    Hi All,

Decided to have a break from painting the house today, started the day by finishing of reading a book, and then decided to go turn some more of my castings to see what they came out like
so here they are and please feel free to give me any comments good or bad on the castings
Oh and I had to do a timber one to just keep my hand in so the timber one is a Brown Mallee Burl with 25 coats of thin CA.

    Cheers
    Tony.

Looks like all that mold making and research is really paying off for you Tony ,these are fine examples of the casting and turning arts ,you should never have to buy any acrylic blanks ever again cheers ~ John

Well Tony is good to see that you want our good and bad comments The problem is from what I have seen so far and I have been doing my best I can't come up with any bad comments because they look great if you can keep comming up with gems like that you will save a fortune by not having to buy any blanks
Seriously well done keep them comming.

    Cheers Ian

    Tony.
They are some of the best looking blanks I have seen. Well done and congrats on a job well done. Keep going like that and you will have the best mixes made.

    Peter,

I cast using both methods PVC Tubes and silicone for my vertical castings, and silicone molds for my square horizontal blanks.

Fit & finish is perfection Tony. The BMBurl has the classic 20+ coats of CA 'super quality' finish. Congrats on the workmanship.

I realise the benefits of casting your own would outweigh the limited colours available from retail sources. How economical is it to make your own castings as compared to the retail cost? In otherwords how much per unit and how many do you make from a tin (size) of epoxy?

5th one looks like gold flames on a ruby red background, very eye catching blank.
You have managed to peak my interest in casting,, I would really like to give that a try, thanks for the jump start!
